This new luxury eco-tourism hotel and apartment complex was proposed for an isolated site on the Cape south coast and was worked in conjunction with Jane Visser Mark Thomas architects. The building comprises 130 hotel suites and 370 apartments. The site is an extremely beautiful promontory close to the southern most tip of the African continent and is covered in a carpet of indigenous Cape "fynbos." Since certain parts of the site are populated with rare endangered species the design places great emphasis on its environmental sensitivity and results in a building that touches the site as "lightly" as possible.
