The aim of this project was to radically transform an existing house with minimal cost or structural alterations. The building itself abuts the Table Mountain reserve and commands incredible views of the Atlantic Ocean. Unfortunately none of these potentials had been fully exploited. New work was restricted to a number of strategic and cost effective interventions which have resulted in a refreshed façade, improved internal flow and seamless connections between inside and outside spaces. All this was augmented by precise detailing of internal fittings together with a careful selection of furnishings and art. The result is an ambience that can be described as cool, comfortable, urban afro-chic.
