Positioned on a steep sloping site overlooking Camps Bay, this project recycles the foundation structure of a previous building. The architecture explores the theme of simple rectilinear shapes forming strong sculptural statements in the landscape. Hence, the concept for this building is a "living box" floating on the mountain side. The living spaces on the lower level are enclosed by a minimal amount of solid walling allowing them to absorb light from multiple directions and connect seamlessly with the outside. The more private bedrooms on the upper floors are wrapped in a more solid structure which appears suspended in space. This project is currently under construction.
